Christmas was great!!!
My parents came up to visit. They arrived on Saturday evening and stayed until Thursday morning. We had a great visit. Curtis gave them something to remember us by. You know Missouri and deer! My dad volunteered his vehicle to Curtis to take his date home in. On the return trip, three deer crossed the road, right in front of Curtis. He missed the first two, but not the third one. Grandpa was fine about the whole thing and no one was hurt.
We had just a dusting of snow last night and it looked pretty this morning, but melted off by this evening. So far our winter has been very mild. We feel blessed but also know it could change at any time. Everyone is healthy at the moment and doing well.
The girls and I took the whole month of December off from school. It was a really nice break. We still got in crafts, and other non core things. Tomorrow we start back.
Bryan, Curtis, and Doug have been working on replacing the head on Curtis's car. They are not finished, but are getting there. Curtis ordered the head off off Ebay and it came through the mail. Car parts on Ebay? That is strange to me.
We inherited a new dog. I kept saying two is plenty but this one just seemed to adopt us.
He is a chocolate labrador, about a year old. He isn't well trained but he can sit. He seems smart and really loves people and wants to please. He came with the name of Jake.
The girls and I put up the Christmas decorations today!!! Yeah!!!! One less thing to do. It looks a bit bare without them, but it also feels like it is time to get busy with other things.
We missed all the rest of our family this Christmas, but loved the cards, letters and pictures.
Love, Patty and family
